8th edition - April 2007

Mia Isabella and her little brother Luka

So I suppose it can be deduced that we are no good at writing newsletters (see previous newsletters). Well maybe that's true (and it is), or maybe it's more true that we have different priorities now and that most of which we once deemed so important falls by the way side. Introduce Mia and Luka. Act 1 scene <oh, I dunno...perhaps 11 for the day>. Mimi (as we affectionately call her) is approaching her terrible twos. Don't get me wrong, we love her dearly, but if this is anything to go by...let's just say it's going to be one hell of a ride :-)

The expats are now nationals - Alice and myself became citizens towards the end of last year with a delayed ceremony in Mosman (we waited a couple of months after getting the nod to get the official nod as ceremonies are scheduled according to a political calendar and not you receiving your nod), cast our votes in our first election and are raising two born and bred Aussies. The now famous Mimi with the angelic eyes is now 19 months and Luka not yet 2 months. Life without immediate family to help and support  is tough, but not quite as tough as it is to become Warratah supporters (you following Union will understand).

We will try keep the website updated and relevant, but it is becoming increasingly difficult as spare time is now officially a thing of the past. We considered taking the site down, but thanks to the numerous letters of appreciation indicating it is still useful, will keep it running for the time being.

Regards,
Mark, Alice, Mia and Luka Cumming

So what's new on the site?

Truthfully not much, but the core of the information is still good. I have added an index into the information section on the home page which will hopefully make the navigation easier. "

The Articles section: we added a couple of articles in April 2007.
  Family Matters section with:
Dealing with a pregnancy in Australia (options, costs, etc.)
     Early childhood centres
     Child care options
Is your child an Aussie? (Citizenship and passport queries answered)
