Look, See, Decide... if only it were that simple. Are you
planning a
trip to Australia to help you decide if this is the place
for you? If so, we can help.
This custom built experience is designed to ensure you
see the things you ought to see to facilitate that difficult
and life changing decision you are about to make:
 |
The obligatory site seeing tour
that includes showing you the local tourist
attractions, but also includes organized social and
sporting outings such as attending a sports game or
a performance by the arts society. It is a holiday
after all :-) |
 |
Getting to grips with the
city's infrastructure so that you can make an
informed decision on where to live. This will
include trips to various residential suburbs and
business areas, ticking off your requirement list
for sports facilities, schools, hospitals, shops,
entertainment, etc. in these areas. |
 |
Trips to various day care
centres, schools, tafes and universities
(if required). Reputation is one thing, but to
actually meet the teaching staff and kids of
prospective schools gives some reassurance in
placing your kids. |
 |
Use of all types of public transport
(ferry, train,
bus). Finding and using public transport (you will
discover the massive implication of this later) and
understanding the timetables and routes is
crucial. |
 |
Getting to know the business
community of your specific trade and how they
operate. Potentially setting up meetings with recruitment agents and
sponsorship agencies. |
|

|
Provision of information packs:
- Property price guides by suburb (buy & rent
options)
- Appropriate visa forms
- Information on schools
- Provision of useful contact lists
- and more

and most importantly, we'll be able to answer any
question that you may have (or direct you to an
appropriate expert) |
We can combine, add-in or exclude any elements that don't
suite your needs or budget. So, don't let a travel agent plan one of the most important
trips of your life!
What we did:
One of the first things we did when we were contemplating
the move to Australia was to come out and "have a
look". This is all fine and well, but what most people
land up doing is coming out for a week or two - perhaps even
three - and do a whirlwind site seeing tour of the major
cities. It's like going to the Greek Islands and just
because your holiday was great you reckon 'yeah, this is the place
to be!'.
So, we thought we'd do it properly. We came out for 2
months on what has notoriously become known as the 'LSD
trip' for prospective immigrants. Determined to live the Aussie life, experience the
culture and then decide if this was for us. Unfortunately,
whether it is 1 week or 3 months, a holiday is always a
holiday. We didn't have the pressures of having to work, to
commute in peak hour traffic or deal with separation anxiety
- after all, we were going back home to "decide".
We were also lucky enough to have good friends who were
willing to put us up and show us the ropes - that was a marvellous
help. Otherwise, we'd still be looking for the right bank
and trying to decipher the notoriously "wordy"
parking signs in the city.
As a result, we thought we'd help you out in this regard. We
thought, why not show people what they really need to see,
the things that are important in making this life-changing
decision.

| How
is this trip structured? |
The structure of the trip is as flexible as your:
- available
time,
- itinerary (scope of the research you would like to do),
and
- your budget.
Once you indicate your interest, we'll send you a
questionnaire to complete that will help us tailor the trip
for you.
Things to consider: Do you simply want a general overview?
Would you prefer
a half day question and answer session? Do you only want a
DIY information pack on the city (ies) of your choice? Is it
imperative that you see at least one recruitment agency
and sponsorship agency when you are out here?
We're happy to tailor make this experience to
your needs.

| What
other's had to say |
|
We stayed in Sydney for a week, in 4 days we'd only
managed to walk around a few city blocks. Not knowing where
to go we missed out on the major sites and most importantly
on seeing the suburbs - which was incredibly important to my
wife. Without knowing where to go and how to get there it
can be incredibly daunting, especially when you don't have
much time.
It was only on the 4th day that we met up with Mark
& Alice and in one day I was taken to a sponsorship
agency, signed up with them and had a job interview lined up
for the next day.
We were taken to one of the north shore bays that
afternoon for some site seeing and they answered the
majority of my lifestyle questions. My wife was also quite
keen to hear about childcare and raising a family in Sydney.
My only regret is that we didn't do this sooner on our
arrival in Sydney.
- Peter Raftopulos, Johannesburg, South Africa

Anyone can follow a guide book and find their way to the
opera house, but without someone to speak to on the other
side, how do you find out about the housing market, the job
market, the government initiatives that may affect you? How
would you know who to trust?
We were very happy with our LSD trip experience
because these guys knew where we were coming from, after all
they'd done it themselves.
- Cathrine Waters, London, UK
We were very nervous about making these life changing
decisions without doing proper research. We did a massive
amount up front, but the things Mark and Alice were able to
show us cannot be found in websites and in printed medium.
There is nothing like first hand information from people
with first hand experience.
- Mike Wyndham, Johannesburg and now Perth

Moving country is daunting. Not knowing much about the
country you are moving to makes this even more daunting. The
website answered many questions, but created many more
questions - things we hadn't even considered.
Mark & Alice were able to answer all our questions, and
more importantly show us first hand when we arrived for our
LSD trip.
Thanks to these guys our LSD trip made the decision to move
across easy, and the move itself painless.
- Anthon Muller, Johannesburg and now
Brisbane.
